A MESSAGE FROM GLACIAL LAKES ORTHOPAEDICS IN RESPONSE TO NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
As the country and region respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, we at Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics and Prairie Lakes Healthcare System would like to offer our apologies for those inconvenienced by the recent decision to postpone elective surgeries. We can assure you that this decision was not made lightly as it affects many peoples lives. However, after careful consideration of the recommendations by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and the governor of our state, we have decided that postponing non-essential surgeries was the safest way to proceed. Going forward, we will be constantly re-evaluating the situation and will begin to reschedule elective surgeries as soon as possible as the crisis subsides.
In the meantime, Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics will continue to be open for limited clinic appointments, and our surgeons and staff will continue to work with Prairie Lakes Healthcare System to provide around the clock care of urgent and emergent orthopaedic problems. For questions or concerns, please call Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics at 605-882-2630.
The safety and well-being of our patients and community members is our highest priority. Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics continues to actively monitor and prepare for the potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in our communities.
To align with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with local Department of Health recommendations, we ask that patients call Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics before arriving if they meet any of the following:
1. Have symptoms including fever or upper respiratory infection symptoms (i.e. cough).
2. Have recently traveled outside the United States
3. Have been in potential contact with a person known to have COVID-19.
If you currently have a fever, or any upper respiratory infection symptoms, please contact our office BEFORE your visit, to determine if we need to reschedule your appointment. Please also limit the number of visitors attending your appointment to no more than 1.
For more information about COVID-19, please visit CDC website, www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
